The entire hockey community across the country and beyond are grieving from the tragic accident involving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team.

Semiahmoo Minor Hockey and all its members share in that grief and extend our deepest condolences to the Humboldt community and all the families.

We know that amongst our extended SEMI Hockey family, even two provinces over, there are close connections to the Broncos and their players, past billet families, former junior players, parents of many players who have moved into junior hockey. We extend our support to them locally as well.

We all take great pride in the role we play as a sports organization to promote the values of the sport into the young people that play the game. As we hear the stories about these young people, we hear accounts of their character, their selflessness, their drive to succeed, and their pride in their teams and communities. Our best way to honour that is to continue to promote those same attributes in all the kids that play at SEMI Hockey.

If you are interested in other ways to help, there are several avenues set up that you can support.

  1. Wear your Jersey day on April 12th (organized by Lower Mainland hockey parents):
  1. Make a monetary donation that will directly benefit the Humboldt Broncos families:
  1. Sign up to be an organ donor or verify online that you are already a registered donor:
  1. Place your hockey sticks outside your home in support of the Broncos
