2022-23 Coach Announcements

May 9^th, 2022 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RE: 2022-23 Coach Announcements The Semiahmoo Ravens are pleased to announce the following coaches for the 2022-2023 season. After completing an extremely successful season this past year we are excited to have so many terrific coaches returning. Josh Daley – U18 A1Josh joined Semiahmoo Hockey last season and started to put his stamp on our U18 program. He brings an experienced coaching background and also adds extensive experience in youth leadership and mental preparation, which is critical at this development stage. Our U18 program has developed numerous players who are now skating in junior hockey, and more importantly we have created young  leaders as kids graduate out of our programs. Chris Rengert – U15 A1This will be Chris’s 8^th season with The Ravens. His team has played in the PCAHA Final 4 the past three seasons, winning the banner in the past two. Last season the team finished with the Bronze medal at the BC Hockey Championship. Many of the players that have played for Chris in the past are entering their junior hockey years and finding success in the BCHL and WHL. This speaks to the impact that he has had on player development both on and off the ice. Jim Martin - U15 A2Coach Jim returns for his 3^rd season with Semiahmoo. Jim shows incredible attention to detail and commitment to the success of each player. Many players over the past few seasons have moved on from Jim’s A2 program directly into the BC Elite Hockey League as he has proven to be a strong player development coach. Matt Erhart - U13 A1 Matt returns for his 5^th season with the U13 team. It will be tough to top the accomplishments of last years team, as they won a second BC Hockey Championship, losing only one regular season game all year. The team once again qualified for the Quebec International Pee Wee tournament. Matt continues to create an environment for players to excel, while focusing on a commitment to team play. Topher Plonka – U13 A2This will be Topher’s 4^th season at the helm of the A2 team. His team has qualified for the PCAHA Final 4 each year. Topher’s team plays fast, moves the puck and are committed to playing a team game. Typically getting matched up against A1 teams all year, Topher teaches the players to believe in themselves and build as the year goes along. Shane Kuss - U11 A1Shane will be in his 4^th season developing players in this very important age group. Players on Shane’s team learn to play the right way. Good habits are developed, team plays fast, shares the puck, works hard and go to the right spots on the ice. The results then speak for themselves, as the team had captured the last two PCAHA Championship banners. Semiahmoo Ravens Hockey will be adding to this coaching roster over the Spring with a handful of non-parent and parent-coach elect appointments as we head into what we expect to be another exciting and successful season.
